A Georgia rapper was gunned down on Saturday (May 15), as he filmed a music video in his hometown of Griffin, Georgia.

According to local media, Yung Hott (real name: Jerode Paige) was filming his very first music video, when car pulled up and fired at least 20 shots into a crowd of nearly 200 people. The rapper was hit in the head and died at the scene.

Witnesses said that one of the shooters stood over Paige's body and pumped multiple rounds into him. Hott died, while three others were wounded, including a five-year old girl.

The rapper was just 27 years old.

Griffin police are questioning a third person in connection with the shooting, while two others are at large. No weapons have been found.

The music video was for Hott's first single, which had recently been played on an Atlanta radio station.

According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, friends of the rapper said he was trying to turn his life around after a checkered past that included prison. He served time for several drug offenses, as well as a weapons possession charge. He was released from prison in June and was on parole.
